Announcement: Istanbul 2023 International Congress

Dear Members, friends,

On behalf of President Anders Ølsted Jensen and the Executive Committee, I am delighted to inform you that the website for the Istanbul 2023 Congress is up and running with preliminary information. As we receive more details about various venues and finetune the timeline, we will continue to update the website in the coming weeks. Other than the link on the homepage of our website, the Congress microsite can be accessed at: https://congress.lesclefsdor.org/

The registration has now started.

As we have in previous congresses, your Executive Committee has decided to create “early bird” fees. This lower registration fee will be limited to the first 100 single room and the 30 double room (60 attendees) registrations and will only be available to active members. When these registrations are paid and complete, the registration will automatically revert to the full fee.As they won’t need any accommodation (since the membership is almost entirely based in Istanbul), your Executive Committee decided to create a “congress only” fee for our hosts in Turkey without any room nights.

This will allow maximum attendance without taking up on our already limited room stock.

The registration fees are as follows:

Early bird single: €1150 (first 100 paid rooms)
Early bird double: €900 per person (first 30 paid rooms)

——————————
Regular single: €1450
Regular double: €1200 per person
——————————

Local rate (no accommodation): €700

Although it has already been announced before, I would like to remind you all that the Paris Office will handle the registration finances and go through a specifically created bank account for the event. This decision was made on the lessons learned during the pandemic to minimize any potential risks.Additionally, this email serves as a reminder of three other important elements of the upcoming congress:Les Clefs d’Or Awards: As previously announced to all section Presidents, the deadline for Sections to submit their nominees for the Award is December 5th.Elections: This also is an election year. Those who would like to take a more active role on a global level need to share their letter of intent, along with the meeting minutes when their nomination has been supported by the members of their section to the General Secretary no later than December 14th.Statutes: As you all well know, the Statutes Commission has been working non-stop for months and will continue to do so in the days ahead. The Commission, under the leadership of Roderick Levejac, will start providing updates on the proposals and changes in the months coming up to Istanbul. Your section’s continued contribution will undoubtedly shape the future of our organization. In the meantime, as always, please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions you may have.Time to meet again, at a place where the continents meet…
